Into the Woods takes us to a land of fairy tales. In this live stage musical, a Baker and his wife seek to reverse a cursed placed on them by the witch next door. Their tale interweaves with familiar faces along the way: we meet Cinderella, Jack, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel and many more, each on their own quests. But all is not what it seems. Mischief and misadventure teach the characters the difference between “good” and “nice” and what it means to get what you wish for. Join us on this adventure through the woods as only Stephen Sondheim could imagine it!
Into the Woods contains mature themes and content that may not be suitable for all audiences.
Age Appropriateness: Mature elementary school students and older who are ready for a darker view of fairy tales will thoroughly enjoy this musical.
One Act Family Friendly Option: We welcome families with young children to enjoy the first act of Into the Woods, the more light-hearted half of the show. It finishes with a ‘Happily Ever After’ ending, and stands on its own as a full and satisfying theatrical experience. We are highlighting our Saturday March 14th, 2PM matinee as a particularly good performance if you plan to leave after Act 1.
Parents: if you’d like to learn more about the show, please read the official study guide.
In typical fairy-tale style please be advised the show contains: Reference to concepts of consent, sexuality, death, and M**der; depictions of light physical violence and death; poking out of eyes; frightening scenes; themes of grief and loss, infertility and adultery.
