Program is a one-day injury awareness and prevention program for students in Grades 9–12. First developed in 1986 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, it has since become a vital part of the community effort to prevent and reduce death and injury related to alcohol, drugs, and risk-taking behaviours.The P.A.R.T.Y. Program is about prevention and awareness—learning directly from real people and their lived experiences. Students follow the path of a trauma patient: rushed through the trauma room doors by paramedics, admitted to hospital, moving through rehabilitation, and, if fortunate, recovery.This program shows the real consequences of risky decisions, empowering students with knowledge to think twice before engaging in dangerous behaviours.
