From trying to stand out in a family of 8 kids to 30 years teaching in Toronto including at the famed Triangle Program (see Vanessa's bio) to wanting to quip her way through life, stories have been her way to try to connect with others. Patty has had the privilege of telling stories with Toronto's Queers in Your Ears. Thankfully retired from teaching, Patty tries to be quiet long enough to garden, cycle and play pickleball so there's enough fodder for future stories.Rose Cullis is an award-winning writer who celebrates all forms of writing and performance in their work.They’ve had short stories, creative non-fiction, plays and monologues published in theme-based anthologies and in This Magazine, Event Magazine, Brick, Vallum and Prairie Fire. They wrote the text for a new play with music called After/BAAL that’s premiering in Toronto in 2027. Cullis is a member of the Throbbing Rose Queer Arts Collective and the Playwright’s Guild of Canada.Kristyn Dunnion’s Stoop City won the 2021 ReLit Award for fiction. Previous books includeTarry This Night, a Sunburst and ReLit Award finalist, and The Dirt Chronicles, a Lambda Literary Award finalist. Dunnion is one of six Canadian authors featured in editor John Metcalf’sOff the Record. She teaches creative writing at Toronto University's School of Continuing Studies, mentors emerging artists, and edits at large.Paul Hutcheson (Host) is a queer comedic performer, writer and producer. His six solo shows have toured to over forty festivals in Canada and the United States, playing to sold-out audiences, glowing reviews and awards. Hutch’s physical comedy and storytelling skills have been compared to Jim Carrey and David Sedaris. He produces comedy events, Hutch &amp; Friends and Hutch’s Storytime in Toronto. Canuck Cabaret, an idea conceived by Hutch, produced over forty shows in NYC. His comedy album, Call Me Hutch, is produced by Howl &amp; Roar Records. She also taught at the Triangle Program, Canada’s only dedicated classroom for queer students “at-risk.” Vanessa completed her PhD and dissertation focuses on Queer teacher-student relationships. Today Vanessa is thrilled to be retired from all academic queerness and focuses on a queerer happiness by writing, telling and singing more creatively.
