欢迎大家参加一场鼓舞人心的讲座，一起学习美国海军历史上的开拓者与勇敢卓越精神的象征人物——戈顿·派艾亚·钟云海军少将。钟勋少将是华裔美国人，1934年成为首位从美国海军学院毕业的亚裔美国人。在校期间，他是校橄榄球队的明星球员，担任半卫和弃踢手，并在1934年带领球队打破了长达11年未能战胜陆军队的纪录，赢得全国关注。在第二次世界大战中，他担任美军西格斯比号驱逐舰舰长，因展现出卓越英勇与非凡领导力荣获海军十字勋章与银星勋章。本次讲座将带领观众深入了解钟云少将不凡的一生与不朽贡献，并从中一窥美国卓越精神的缩影。Join us for an inspiring presentation on Admiral Gordon Paiʻea Chung-Hoon, a trailblazing figure in U.S. military history and a symbol of American courage and excellence. Gordon Pai’ea Chung-Hoon was of Chinese-Hawaiian origin and was the first Asian American graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Class of 1934. While a student he gained national prominence as the football team's halfback and punter, and in 1934 starred on the team that broke an 11-year winless streak against the Army team. He was the recipient of the Navy Cross and Silver Star for conspicuous gallantry and extraordinary heroism as commanding officer of the USS Sigsbee during WWII. This presentation will explore his remarkable life and legacy as part of America's story of excellence.
