Using singing bowls, gong, chimes, and more Greg will lead this class through a sound meditation session. The sounds from these instruments have been known to help the mind move into more relaxed states, and Greg is an experienced practitioner who has been leading meditation classes for over 10 years. Along with the meditative quality of this experience, it is often reported to have additional wide-ranging benefits such as pain relief, improved sleep, and more. It is an experience that is hard to describe yet offers unique effects for each attendee. All happening in the completely unique and amazing setting of the Cathedral Hall room inside Grand Caverns.No prior experience needed.The Sound Bath will start at 6:30pm. Attendees can arrive between 5-6pm and starting at 6pm Grand Caverns staff will lead folks inside the caverns. You will get to see more than half of the caverns that are included on a tour. Once we reach the Cathedral Hall attendees will identify their location for the Sound Bath. Sound Bath will last approximately 65-70 minutes. Folks will have about 15 minutes to enjoy Cathedral Hall before staff will lead everyone back out of the caverns.Things to know:1. The caverns are not ADA accessible. There is a steep hill that must be traversed, several staircases in each section, low hanging ceilings, and loose gravel along the path. If you have mobility issues or require mobility assistance (cane, walker, wheelchair), call us in advance for our advice.2. The temperature inside the caverns stays around 55 degrees. It is very common for the body to become chilly during a Sound Bath experience. Please prepare accordingly.3. While this is an any age experience there is an expectation to remain quiet and mostly still for an hour.4. There are two options for taking in the Sound Bath. You are welcome and we encourage you bringing items to create your own spot to rest, typically including mats/blankets/pillows. We also have folding chairs available for anyone that needs or prefers a chair for the session. Couples, families and groups are welcome to set up together.5. As the cave is a protected environment we must follow certain rules during the session in order to leave no trace.
