Events

Trap Shoot - The first event is a trap shoot.  This takes place at Aberdeen gun club, located south of Aberdeen off of Hwy 281.  Two teams will be paired together to shoot at the same time.  Each team will shoot 2 rounds for a total of 50 clays.  Each person will need to provide their own gun and two boxes of shells.  12 gauge shells will be available for purchase if needed.  Hearing and eye protection is required when shooting.  Ear plugs may be available for purchase. 

Golf - The second event is golf.  This takes place at Olive Grove Golf Course in Groton.  It is a 9 hole four person scramble format.  Cart rentals will be available if needed, but the rental fee is not included in the registration fee.  A light lunch will be provided at the golf course.

Bowling - The third and final event is bowling.  This takes place at Jungle Lanes & Lounge on main street in Groton.  Each team will bowl 3 games.  You will be paired with the same team you shot trap with at the start of the event.  Pizza will be provided at the Jungle during bowling.

History

The Groton triathlon dates back to 1994 as an annual event in June. For many years it was put on by the Groton Chamber of Commerce. The organizer of the event has changed a few times, but the event has continued!  In 2022, Groton Fire took over organizing the event and is continuing to look for ways to grow and continue the tradition.
