By removing this biomass and repurposing it as artistic material, this project functions as both an ecological intervention and creative expression. As a featured artist in an exhibition outlining the relationship to land, Aymar Ccopacatty is partnering with Pattagansett Art Center & Groton Long Point Conservation Commission for an afternoon of invasive species removal.The exhibition titled “The Land You Stand On” is set to open in October 2026 at Lyman Allyn Museum, the future sculptures created from phragmites will symbolize connection and transition while reflecting themes of migration, indigenous traditions, land use, colonization, and environmental responsibility.
