Wave the flag and join us for a patriotic morning of music, activities, and all-American family fun as a nod to the upcoming 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding in 2026. Think of it as an early birthday party for America! 

Red, White & Blue Celebration Activities:

Pipe Cleaner Bracelets:
Celebrate America 250 with a little sparkle and a lot of creativity! Kids are invited to twist, loop, and design their very own red, white, and blue pipe cleaner bracelets in honor of our nation’s 250th birthday. With soft, colorful stems and plenty of patriotic flair, young crafters can create wearable art that shows off their stars-and-stripes spirit. It’s a simple, hands-on activity full of creativity, color, and celebration!

Patriotic Necklace:
Kids can design their own patriotic necklaces using blue beads, bright red and white straws, and sturdy string. Little hands will mix, match, and pattern their way to a one-of-a-kind creation bursting with stars-and-stripes spirit. It’s a fun, hands-on craft that turns simple materials into wearable celebration—perfect for showing off during our red, white, and blue festivities!

Creative Nature:
Get ready to sculpt a symbol of celebration! In honor of America 250, our special guest, Creative Nature, will guide kids in crafting their very own American flags from clay. Young artists will shape, design, and add patriotic details to create a keepsake they can proudly display long after the festivities end. It’s a hands-on experience that blends creativity, history, and a whole lot of red, white, and blue fun!

Zippity 2 Guys & A Guitar Show
Join Zippity 2 Guys & A Guitar for a sing-a-long with a Red White & Blue Theme. Stage show takes place at 10:00am.

Our popular Second Saturdays events return for the 2025-2026 season! The second Saturday of each month, join us for crafts, activities, games, an onstage performance and more family-friendly fun! These themed monthly events are designed to provide a preview of some of the classes, camps and other experiences we host at the War Memorial throughout the year. Meet some of our instructors and learn more about programs offered at the War Memorial before you commit to a whole session. Plus there’s free coffee for parents, and an indoor place for the kids to run around and burn some energy during those long Michigan Winter weekends. Each session just $10, or get all six sessions for $50. See you there!
