Stroll through a serene, one-mile illuminated walk filled with lighted gardens, historic architecture, and the beautifully decorated Main Residence.
Your evening begins at the Visitor Center Plaza, then continues to Josephine’s Playhouse, glowing with cheerful lights and festive music. The path winds through the Formal Garden and above the Rose Garden, with stunning winter views. Along the way, trees and historic buildings shine with lights, and you’ll find the Christmas train circling inside the Recreation Building.
Inside the Main Residence, explore the first floor at your own pace, adorned in Eleanor Ford’s signature understated holiday style. Afterward, stop by Santa’s station in the original laundry room for a smile and a photo.
The route then meanders down Maple Lane, through towering trees and the quiet Meadow, before returning to the Visitor Center. Perfect for families, couples, and friends, this calm and heartwarming experience is designed for all ages.

This is a one-mile outdoor walking experience (plus the Main Residence) over varied terrain, including pavement, wood chips, gravel, and grass. Some sections may be challenging for strollers, wheelchairs, or walkers.
The walk takes about 35–60 minutes, depending on your pace and stops.
Dress for outdoor conditions and wear comfortable shoes.
Shuttles do not operate during this event — the road is closed at night for pedestrians only.
