Peter Cook, a retired museum administrator and curator, will take us on an antique road trip with stories of rescue, intrigue, mystery and innovation. Architecture, land, decorative arts, monuments and national living treasures will all be represented in this historical journey.
Peter grew up in Grosse Pointe Park and has served as the chief curator of Plimoth Plantation in Massachusetts; the administrative director of “Historic New England”; the chief curator of the Bennington Museum in Vermont; and guest curator for an exhibition of material culture, including historic textiles. He and his wife Nancy specialize in pre-industrial textiles and livestock breeding on their Tare Shirt Farm in Berwick, Maine, using 18th-century farming techniques. Peter also served as a senior lecturer in the graduate program at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachussetts.
