Weinig aankondigingen in VERA zijn zo bijzonder verlopen als deze. Per abuis had NME gemeld dat Drink The Sea in VERA zou spelen, wat leidde tot tal van telefoontjes en mailtjes van fans waarom ze niet op onze site te vinden waren. Wij wisten van niks, hun boekingskantoor ook niet, maar ja, nu we toch aan het bellen zijn, op zich hadden ze nog niks op die datum en de bandleden wilden eigenlijk wel heel graag in VERA spelen. De rest is geschiedenis, dus bij deze presenteren we alsnog: Drink The Sea!

Deze nieuwe supergroep is gevormd rond Peter Buck, vooral bekend als de legendarische gitarist van R.E.M.
Samen met Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees, Mad Season), Duke Garwood (Mark Lanegan Band), Alain Johannes (bekend van samenwerkingen met Chris Cornell, PJ Harvey en Queens of the Stone Age) en percussioniste Lisette Garcia brengt hij decennia aan ervaring uit de alternatieve rockscene samen in een nieuwe band.

Na de release van debuutsingle ‘Outside Again’ verschenen vorig jaar al snel twee indrukwekkende dubbelalbums, waarop de sterke chemie tussen de bandleden direct hoorbaar is.
