- **Event Description**: "Mississippi Bears Witness" is a powerful new exhibit from the Museum of the Mississippi Delta that tells the story of 9/11 twenty-five years later through the eyes of ordinary Mississippians who found themselves in extraordinary moments in history. This exhibit features never-before-seen photography taken in New York City on September 11 by a young Mississippian who had just completed film and documented the unfolding tragedy from the streets of Lower Manhattan into the night. Visitors will also hear the firsthand account of a local survivor who escaped the towers, as well as, the story of the Jackson Hot Shots, an elite firefighting unit, who deployed to Ground Zero to assist with search, rescue and logistics in the aftermath.

The exhibit includes rare aerial maps, photos, memorabilia and personal testimony that connect a global event to the people of Greenwood and Mississippi in a deeply human way.
