Build your own drum, elk with maple frame!
Family Style, for kids ages 5-14. Adult must be present during the workshop.
Our facilitator:
Aric Mckeown has been making drums for 30 years. He was introduced to the red road at the age of 16 and have carried Lakota songs, teachings, and ceremonies ever since. He is a carrier of songs for powwows and ceremonies of all kinds. The red road showed him a way of spirituality and saved his life many times. He has sang for various interpretors and medicine men from rosebud, SD. He is blessed to help carry the traditions of drum making and continue to share the power they give to the people as the heartbeat of mother earth.
All experience levels welcome! All materials included. One mallet per person and refreshments.

A minimum of 4 participants required for the workshop. If requirement not met, a drum kit with instructions can be picked up at I Am Well Darke County.

If you can not attend the workshop, then you can pick up your supplies at a later date. Aric is willing to guide the drum building process via phone.
