There’s something gratifying about pouring tea from a pot you made with your own hands. In this 6-week class, artist Steven Parker will guide you through the art of wheel throwing as you create your very own functional teapot—one that’s as personal as it is practical. Feel free to ring photos of teapots you love or want to mimic—we’ll use them as inspiration. Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, you’ll learn the essential steps to shaping, assembling, and finishing a teapot from start to pour. Along the way, Steven will share intriguing stories about the cultural roots of teapots and tea traditions from around the world. To wrap up, we’ll share a group tea session to test out your teapot’s pour, sip some brews, and reflect on your creative journey. Prior wheel throwing knowledge is helpful but not required.
