ABOUT THE EVENT
Inverclyde’s annual Galoshans Mini Parade and Street Party returns for another spectacular celebration of Halloween, Scottish folklore, creativity, and community! Join the iconic Galoshans Giants along Greenock’s waterfront for a night filled with live music, street theatre, hands-on circus skills, giant walkabout monsters, and captivating projection art.

4:00 PM – 4:45 PM & 5:00 PM – 5:45 PM | The Hidden Beacon Tours

Survive Captain Kidd’s fiery welcome and join him and The Walking Theatre Company for a guided backstage tour beneath the Beacon Arts Centre, uncovering tales of smugglers, lost sailors, and shipwrecked spirits!

Providing a spooky musical opening to the party, featuring drums and brass played live by Gourock primary school pupils!

Local young performers take the stage alongside a well-known celebrity performer for a high-quality showcase celebrating local youth talent!

The Massel (Custom House Quay) — A brand-new street monster created by Kim McClelland & Ailie Rutherford, inspired by local comics from the Inverclyde Sharing Stories project!

Haunted Home (Custom House Quay) — Neve Pearce’s mischievous, walkabout house character designed around Inverclyde's social and architectural history.

Dorus Sith (The Fairy Gate) (Custom House Quay) — David Powell’s liminal gateway of light, sound, spoken word, woven willow, and welded steel connecting past, present, and the otherworld.

Memento Vivere (Custom House Quay) — Jane McInally’s new Samhain-inspired sculptural artwork exploring life and dreams.

Performing Pirates & Circus (Beacon Arts Centre) — Fire spinning and fire breathing by professional circus artists, plus interactive workshops where you can try juggling, balancing, poi spinning, and plate spinning!

User Interface: Coded Craft (Beacon Arts Centre) — Travelling Gallery's projected artworks created with local schools, featuring dockside monsters, pirates, merpeople, and imagined future spirits of Greenock.

Frightful Faces of Inverclyde (Beacon Arts Centre) — Projections bringing local school artwork and legends to life along the waterfront.
