The best of Scottish comedy is coming to Dunoon!
An outstanding line up of talent is heading your way on Friday 12th December, as Cowal Comedy Club presents a night of top quality stand up in the Burgh Hall.
Headlining is award-winning Clydebank comedian Stephen Buchanan. Stephen is a well-known face (and voice) to fans of Scottish comedy, with appearances on the likes of The Now Show, Jonathan Ross’ Comedy Club and The Comedy Underground, as well as being one of the co-hosts of the popular Some Laugh podcast. He has had more than his fair share of industry recognition for his talents, having won the prestigious BBC New Comedy Award (the first Scottish comedian to ever take this UK-wide prize) as well as Scottish Comedian of the Year. He has been described as “An absolute joy from start to finish” (The Sunday Post), and we can’t wait to set him loose in Dunoon.
Opening the show is Mick McNeill – described by the Daily Record as “a rising star of Scottish comedy”, McNeill is a regular at top comedy clubs such as The Stand, and has recently been support act for the likes of Connor Burns and Chris Kent.
We have also hand-picked two of the best up-and-coming acts in Scotland, Canadian Jodie Sloan (over 100m online views, “Exciting comedy newcomer” The Stage) and Daniel Petrie (Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2023).
The host for the evening will be Dunoon’s own Roddy Gordon, who is resident compere at Blackfriars Comedy Club in Glasgow and was nominated for the Sir Billy Connolly Spirit of Glasgow Award as part of Glasgow International Comedy Festival 2024.
