- **Event Description**: Writers Read is a monthly opportunity for an audience to come and listen to local writers in an intimate environment. Each second Wednesday of the month, three writers read from their work, followed by a discussion facilitated by Lindy Whiton. These discussions have been eye opening, touching, and inspiring. Audiences have left the venue ready to write.

Vitek Kruta and Jessica Gorman will present their collaborative project, In Between The Unseen. They will read their work while surrounded by images.

In Between the Unseen is a collaborative project that explores the roots of human nature and the unseen forces that drive us in our journey towards understanding our place in the Universe.

It was designed during COVID as a means of maintaining artistic connection during a time of isolation. It was displayed at the Gateway City Arts small gallery upon re-opening after COVID and has since been published as a book.

Jessica Gorman is an artist, poet, writer and photographer from Holyoke. Her art and poetry has been displayed several times in the former Gateway City Arts gallery. This is her second showing of this gallery and first publication.

Vitek Kruta (born in Prague, Czech Republic) is a fine artist, art restorer, and consultant trained in traditional European techniques in the Czech Republic and Germany. He worked on historic paintings, murals, frescoes, sculptures, and architectural elements in castles, churches, and heritage buildings before moving to the United States in 1991.

Since then, he has worked as a freelance artist, designer, restorer, educator, and consultant for public, nonprofit, and private organizations. He has created and exhibited hundreds of original works in galleries and art shows across Europe and North America.

Vitek is also a poet and writer, working in both Czech and English. He is fluent in Czech and English, with working knowledge of German and Russian.

He is currently living and working in Western Massachusetts.
