Brisbon’s narrative performance chronicles the evolution of African American musical traditions commencing with “negro spirituals” and their influence on blues, gospel, jazz, classic soul, rock ’n’ roll, funk, disco, house, reggae and hip-hop. Vocal narrations will educate and celebrate the poignant, perennial influences of Black artists on American music. Free and open to the public. Light refreshments provided, RSVP requested.
