Program Overview
Our program follows the current industry-standard methods of animal CPR, ensuring participants receive evidence-based, up-to-date instruction. This course is designed to teach participants how to provide immediate, effective CPR and first aid to dogs and cats until veterinary care can be obtained.
👉 This class certifies participants in Canine and Feline CPR and First Aid (PetCPR+ Certification, valid for 2 years).
We strongly encourage attendees to bring a stuffed animal to class for hands-on practice (optional but recommended).
Skills & Topics Covered
Participants will learn how to:
Apply safety techniques when working with sick or injured animals.
Perform emergency triage and assess whether an animal is experiencing a life-threatening emergency.
Safely restrain and transport sick or injured animals.
Provide first aid en route to veterinary care.
Take and interpret vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, CRT) and recognize normal vs. abnormal readings.
Assemble and use a pet first aid kit effectively during emergencies.
Manage and provide first aid for common medical emergencies such as severe wounds, poisoning, burns, choking, and more.
Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on dogs and cats using the most current, standardized techniques.
