- **Event Name**: Designs of the Hearland - A Presentation on Greenfield Architect, John Felt
- **Event Start and End Date**: Sun, 12 Apr, 2026 at 02:00 pm (-04:00)
- **Event Description**: What do the old Riley Hotel (aka Columbia Hotel), the Greenfield Christian Church, the Riley Elementary Building (the original Greenfield HS), the City Building (old fire station on North St), and the Allen, Wellman, Harvey and McNew Law Office Building all have in common?

They were all designed by one man....John Felt.

This Sunday, April 12, 2026 at 2pm, come to the Hancock County Historical Society's Chapel in the Park, located at 28 Apple Street, Greenfield, IN, to learn about Greenfield's most famous home grown architect, John Felt. Admission is free.

Author and Greenfield Historic Landmarks President, David Schrank, will give a wonderful presentation full of photos and information about Felt and his many buildings in Greenfield, a few others across the state of Indiana...and even more in Missouri. After the presentation, Schrank will be available to sign his new book, "Designs of the Heartland."

In this presentation, Schrank will talk about how the book project got started; what stories he discovered about Felt and how the whole project came together.

After the presentation, Schrank will be on hand to sign copies of his book, "Designs of the Heartland." Copies of the book will be available for purchase on the day of presentation for $40 with proceeds to benefit Greenfield Historic Landmarks and the Hancock County Historical Society. Cash or card will be accepted.

Don't miss this great opportunity to learn about some of the beautiful historic structures that still exist in Greenfield today, and the almost all self-taught architect who designed them.
