Our 2026 CTW starts Monday! We're excited to see new and familiar faces!! If you are registered, please check your email for more details before Monday. 

Workshop Dates for 2026:  
Monday-Thursday, June 22-25 with morning sessions meeting 9:30-11:30am 
Friday, June 26th’s Dress Rehearsal will let out at 11:45am 
The culminating performance will be on Friday evening, June 26th at 7pm

Our incredibly amazing team this year includes:  Sarah Vawter, Grace Buehler, Caroline Good, Nick Tharp, John Reach, and Ellen Blackledge, along with our super helpful and enthusiastic interns (all CTW and YTW alumni):  Catherine, Josie C., MJ, Evelyn, Gabriela, Nicolette, Jewelee, and Josie T.

The workshop sessions include one hour of small group instruction in acting with Caroline, voice and diction with Grace, and dance/movement for the stage with Sarah through fun and engaging games; the second hour is devoted to rehearsing two plays. Our plays this year are both written by our youth theatre resident playwrights: 

"Whoosh: A Weather Phenomenon" by Robert J. Reach
"Racing for Treasure" by Ellen Blackledge

The workshop culminates in a Friday evening "work-in-progress" performance that includes a demonstration of games the kids played throughout the week and a presentation of their plays complete with costumes, lights, and music. Our mission is to not only provide a venue for kids to creatively and confidently express themselves, but also to expose them to the world of theatre.
The workshop is free thanks to a grant from Arts Illiana.
