Your time will start at 5:45 p.m. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early.You will be introduced to two courageous women, Mary Cenefelt, an illiterate maid, and Mollie Bertles, a college-educated socialite, as well as their closet abuser, Dr. John R. Minahan, St. Vincent Hospital’s attending physician and surgeon. He and his siblings, who play major roles in this saga, are buried in Woodlawn Cemetery as are many of the book’s supporting cast of characters.A copy of The Maid and the Socialite can be purchased on the cemetery tour. The tour will take place rain or shine, so please dress accordingly.
