Following college, Maria accepted a position with the DNR State Natural Areas crew continuing to work on habitat restoration. Through the 3.5 years with the State, Maria conducted surveys for species of concern, completed restoration across 13 counties, and was a Wildland Firefighter on numerous wildfires and prescribed fires across the state. In 2021, Maria transitioned to her current role with the City of Green Bay.
