About the event

Great Decisions: Multilateral Institutions in a Changing World Order
Addressing topics selected by the Foreign Policy Association, the Great Decisions Lecture Series is America's largest discussion program on foreign affairs. The series of six Great Decisions Lectures at the Mauthe Center continues a longstanding collaboration between the University of Wisconsin Green Bay and St. Norbert College, with faculty from both institutions contributing to the selection of speakers and the discussions themselves.

This week's topic is "Multilateral Institutions in a Changing World Order." The description from the Foreign Policy Association states, "Can multilateralism survive amid shifting global power and rising nationalism? This discussion examines the future of global cooperation across trade, health, and finance."

Our speaker will be Bojan Francuz, Deputy Director of Our Future Agenda at the United Nations Foundation, a unique platform that encourages young innovators, entrepreneurs, and champions to reimagine the United Nations for 21st-century needs. A graduate of St. Norbert College, Francuz has training in public management from the NYU Wagner School of Public Service, and is an active member of multiple professional and community-based organizations on minority rights, ethics in international affairs, and youth education. He has conducted research and advised governments, foundations, and international organizations on policy directions, launched high-impact initiatives, and built international interest networks. An alumnus of the next generation public leadership program, trained in foresight, and a lifelong student of languages, he is a regular guest lecturer at universities in the US and Canada, and commentator on UN affairs, peace, development, and future generations. He writes, "My values are shaped by my ‘outsider’ status and childhood spent in a multi- ethnic and confessional community in a region undergoing turbulent transition from conflict. My ambition is to improve existing global mechanisms to better advance peace, inclusion, and dialogue among people and across cultures and generations."

This hybrid event is free and open to the public. We encourage you to attend in person if you are able, as the discussion promises to be fruitful! If you prefer to attend virtually, register for the Zoom webinar here: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_lZSdvDrmSVKM9SPSmQSkfg
