House Guest 2 is back at Macpherson House this Holiday Season!
In a nearly 200-year old house, you never know who may come to visit! Returning for a second year in a row but with a brand new story, House Guest is an immersive room-by-room play set during the holiday season in historic Macpherson House. The night begins as three sisters take a trip to Napanee for a festive night at the theatre together, only to be met by three sisters from the House’s past. What starts as a sisterly struggle about the pleasures and perils of growing up, leads to a heartwarming reflection on what it means to stay connected to your kin at the holidays. House Guest invites its audience to enjoy playful historical fiction from inside the beautiful Macpherson House surrounded by candlelight and dressed for the holiday season.
House Guest is created by and starring Kingston-based emerging artists and Queen’s University DAN School of Drama and Music students Madeleine Cottreau, Jo Patey, and Kaitlin Schuettler, designed by Anandi Dajka, directed by Taylor Snelling, and supervised by Queen’s Drama professor and Cellar Door Project artistic director Dr Mariah (Mo) Horner. Candle-lit performances of House Guest take place on November 28, December 5, and December 13 at the Macpherson House in Napanee.
