# Event Details - **Event Name**: December: Buddhist Practice for First Timers on a Saturday - **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 13 Dec, 2025 at 09:30 am – Sat, 13 Dec, 2025 at 10:30 am - **Event Description**: December can be stressful... Take some time out for yourself and try out one of our meditation and chanting sessions in Malvern's Buddhist temple. Satya will be running this session. You can also join us on Zoom - details at the bottom. Bright Earth offer regular sessions every Wednesday evening from 7.30pm until 8.30pm and every Saturday morning from 9.30am until 10.30am. You can drop in to these sessions whether you've been before or not. This session will be extra suitable for first timers. Do arrive up to ten minutes before practice starts and leave your shoes in the porch. Come straight in (push the inside door, it'll be open) and someone will be there to meet you, answer any questions, and show you into the shrine room. You can sit on a chair or a cushion on the floor. Our practice sessions often begin with a Dharma Glimpse - a little inspirational story by someone in our group. Next we do some silent sitting and some chanting. We recite the refuges and precepts together, there's a Dharma talk, and we finish with bows to the Buddha. You put the money into the golden bowl in the hallway or donate online at www.brightearth.org/donate - we don't check to see who's putting in what. There is no parking at the temple – there is plenty of free roadside parking a minute’s drive out of town (towards Worcester) on the left hand side. If you need a disabled parking spot let us know. Some people worry about coming along for the first time which is understandable - you don't know quite what to expect or what we'll be like. These sessions especially for first timers mean that you won't be the only one there for the first time (and we are a friendly bunch!).
