Amadeus Concerts presents Julian Schwarz and Jeff Stern

Amadeus is starting things off at The Grange this year in beautiful Great Falls, VA: Jeff Stern, award-winning percussionist and Peabody faculty member, and Julian Schwarz, acclaimed cellist and faculty member at Shenandoah Conservatory, present our season opener! Their program includes some of the most exciting recent music for cello and percussion, using everything from marimba and kick drum to tuned flower pots. Andy Akiho's 21, Caroline Shaw's Boris Kerner, Viet Cuong's Next Week's Trees, and Osvaldo Golijov's Mariel are some of the pieces they'll be playing.

Join us at 3:15pm for a special pre-concert demo and discussion on the various percussion instruments Jeff will be playing, and stay for our reception afterwards where, over some food and a glass of wine, you can mix and mingle with the artists.
