Barton Community College Theatre is launching its first High School Playwrights Festival in spring 2026 — and you’re invited to be part of it!

📝 Students can submit an original 10-minute play Feb. 26 –March 12 for consideration in the festival by emailing greenwoodr@bartonccc.edu with “Barton Playwrights Festival" as the subject line.


🎬 Six plays will be selected for staged readings and performed live at 7:30 p.m. April 18 in the Barton Fine Arts Auditorium. The event is open to the public and celebrates original student-written work in collaboration with Barton Theatre and the greater community.

🏆 Following the performance, one student will be named the festival’s first-ever Champion Playwright and receive a prize.

The festival is designed to empower young writers to tell their own stories and experience the collaborative magic of live theatre.
