Die Welt, die große und die kleine, die nahe und die ein wenig weiter weggelegene, braucht Umarmung, braucht Umarmungen. Vielleicht dieser Tage tatsächlich mehr noch als je zuvor.
Und die neue, vielleicht etwas unerwartete, gar unverhoffte Single von NAKED LUNCH, ihre erste Veröffentlichung seit sieben Jahren, zehn Jahre nach dem Soundtrack zum Film „Jack“, zwölf Jahre nach „All Is Fever“, ihrem bislang letzten Album, ist ein Song wie eine Umarmung. Eine kräftige, eine herzliche, eine, dare we say, wahrhafte. Also dann – und nur dann! – noch schöner und wirksamer, wenn sie erwidert wird, zurückgegeben, weitergetragen …
Oliver Welter, seit 1991 Stimme, Herz und Hirn der damals Klagenfurter Band, zelebriert von Wien aus mit den Mitmusikern Boris Hauf und Alex Jezdinsky, sowie Produzent Wolfgang Lehmann, nichts weniger als das Leben, die mit so vielen Brüchen ungebrochene Liebe zum Leben mit all seinen Freuden, Ekstasen und Möglichkeiten, verfallenen und gehaltenen Versprechen, (aufgelösten) Widersprüchen, (überwundenen) Widrigkeiten und Widerständen – „to the fall of every fascist“.
Pop im allerbesten Sinne, schöpft der Song seine Minuten transzendierende Dauer und Gültigkeit aus den in ihm nachgezeichneten und gestreiften intensiven und so kostbar wahrgenommenen Mo-menten, spezifisch und universell zugleich: „to places where we drink - when we laugh and cry / to those faces we need - when we’re high and dry / to stories I’ve been told - to the truth and to the lie / to all and everyone I love“. Und: „to those kids out on the streets taking care of human needs / to Billy Wilder movies and to holidays in Greece / to wind in my hair and snow on my tongue / to all and everyone I love.“

So singt sich „To All And Everyone I Love“ wie von selbst mit, ein Instant-Chor potentiell vieler (!) Stimmen der Selbstermächtigung und Selbsterkenntnisse, eine Hymne der hemmungslosen Empathie, die offen auf sich als Prinzip besteht. Womöglich pathetisch, aber ein menschliches, nicht überhöhendes, nie ausschließendes Pathos, das nicht zuletzt ganz klar davon erzählt, dass das Projekt Mensch (noch!) nicht zwingend gescheitert ist oder scheitern muss.
