♦️ WHAT IS PROJECT SWING?
Project Swing is a FREE dance class for those who have never taken a West Coast Swing (WCS) lesson before! You can come alone, or bring your family, friends, neighbors and coworkers. Let us teach y'all what West Coast Swing is all about!
By the end of our class, you will be able to dance your way through an entire song, and have the foundation to jump into your local beginner classes and keep learning!
♦️ WHAT IS WEST COAST SWING (WCS)?
WCS is a modern lead/follow swing dance that is defined by its slotted and linear movement, and elastic connection with your partner. It is typically danced to contemporary and classic Pop, R&B, Hip Hop, Funk, and Blues. The dance is degendered, which means that lead and follow is not dictated by the gender of the dancer, and it’s up to you to decide what you would like to do!
♦️ WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR?
Our class is geared towards people who have never danced before, but all are welcome to attend!
Our goal is to expand our dance community and we’ll have information for free local dance lessons from studios in the area, so our new dancers can get a feel for what our community is like, and see what they’re learning in action!
♦️ WHAT DO I WEAR AND BRING?
Wear clothing you can easily move your arms and legs in, and shoes that can comfortably slide along the floor.
Please bring water and make sure you eat before you come see us!! You won’t want to miss what follows. ?
