He earned his PhD from Columbia University in Historical Musicology in 2020 with support from the Alliance-Council for European Studies and a Fulbright award to Belgium. He is a senior editor to CANTUS, the international chant database, and is a current contributor to several N.E.H.-funded projects. He is currently co-authoring a book on the Remiremont festive evangeliary.
