Character Descriptions:
Ages listed are the character age and not necessarily the age the actor must be.
BECCA (female- late 30s to early 40s) – Usually a very responsible, practical and sensible person but her grief causes her to make some rash decisions. Tough and uncompromising, she cannot tolerate insincerity or impracticality. Married to Howie.
HOWIE (male- late 30s to early 40s) – A patient man who specializes in pretending everything is fine. He is very caring and attentive to his family, but he finds it challenging to reconcile how Becca deals with their shared grief. Married to Becca.
IZZY (female-early 30s) – Becca’s younger sister. Irresponsible and impulsive, but well-intentioned. She finds herself thrust into responsibility she has never known.
NAT (female- 60s) – Becca and Izzy’s mother. Outspoken and opinionated, with a tendency to say the wrong thing. She is supportive of her daughters and frequently acts as their voice of reason.
JASON (male-18-years-old) – A high school senior who is awkward and shy, but sensitive and caring. Although he has been told he bears no blame for the accident, he places the burden of responsibility squarely on himself.
