Left to bring up two sons by herself she turned to writing to make sense of her grief. After blogging for many years, unravelling and re-ravelling she finally started her quest for lost glitter.In January 2024 she published her memoir In Search of Lost Glitter with Resolute Books. A series of short stories, many only 100 words long, which tell the story of her life and how she puts the pieces back together when things keep falling apart. In September In Search of Lost Glitter won the Ink Book Prize for best non-fiction book 2024.Although Sarah Tarlow had devoted her professional life to the study of death and how we grieve, she found that nothing could have prepared her for the reality of illness and the devastation of loss.Fiercely vulnerable, deeply intimate and yet authoritative, The Archaeology of Loss describes a universal experience with an unflinching and singular gaze.
