Launched in 2017, it has grown into a major volunteer movement, often partnering with World CleanUp Day.Meet at the Granite Falls Police Station next to the City of Granite Falls (205 S. Granite Ave.)In 2023, Kula Cloth officially adopted three tiny stretches of roadway on the Mountain Loop Highway. As we embarked upon a journey of highway parenting, we took great pride in the Mountain Loop’s beauty, and understood that it came with a heavy price. Kula is responsible for its upkeep and maintenance at least twice a year. Although less frequent then traditional diaper changes, roadside cleanups can be equally messy.At our first cleanup, we remove nearly 400 pounds of garbage in less than 3 hours. Since then, we hav returned twice a year to clean up thousands of pounds of trash. And there is still a ton of trash begging us to return.Please join us for a National Clean Up Day event to help maintain the beauty of our beloved Mountain Loop Highway. Join us to make a positive impact on the environment and to keep the gateway of our favorite trails beautiful.Armed with determination, brightly colored hard hats, florescent orange vests, litter grabbers and a shared passion for environmental stewardship, we'll obliterate the garbage littering the road to some of our favorite trailheads (Gothic Basin, Goat Lake, Vesper Peak, Mt. We’ve hiked sections of the PCT, summited volcanoes, paddled wild rivers, camped under starlit skies, painted, jumped into cold water for no good reason and danced — A LOT! Along the way, we’ve removed heaps of garbage from the Mountain Loop Highway, planted deciduous and evergreen trees, and taught people how to leave the world a better place.
