The Green Economy Gatherings will be hosted in community settings, and food and drinks will be provided. Each Gathering is a drop-in, booth-style event that features: - Booths from local organizations and industry representatives in the green economy sectors, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainability, and more - Information about career opportunities in green economy sectors - Opportunities to connect with industry leaders, community mentors and other Citizens Registration is encouraged but not required. NEW Drop by the booth showcase anytime between 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m., then close out the day with a GSHP for Builders workshop from ENBIX, an Alberta Ecotrust Foundation initiative (1:00–3:00 p.m.). Workshop description Join Joe Henke from Alberta Ecotrust Foundation | ENBIX as we explore Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP) for builders. Ground source heat pumps are super-efficient heating and cooling devices offering excellent comfort, performance, and low operating costs. Ground source heat pump systems also present special challenges for builders. They require specialized design knowledge, installation of ground loops, careful sizing, and management of capital costs. This workshop will help builders new to both heat pumps generally and ground source heat pumps specifically.
