This is a special trinity experience of cacao ceremony + contact beyond contact dance and authentic relating + ecstatic dance with a LIVE DJ @kohlmayberry (aka DJ Big Heart ❤️)
This experience is here to support you as you ground into your body and the earth. Allowing yourself to surrender to the mystery and connection that cacao, dance and authentic relating foster. Through music that organically harmonizes, eventuates and flows and creates a sacred container to drop in, be your full self, feel deeply and be held within and in community. Weaving elements from each facilitator @matthewstackowicz @kohlmayberry (aka DJ Big Heart ❤️ ) & @alexamagsoudi (aka River) to create a sacred sanctuary to be seen, held, witnesses, raw, real and free.
We will begin with grounding, meditation and ritual. Then flow into a cacao ceremony then contact beyond contact dance and then ecstatic dance. All elements live DJ'd!!
Listen to your body and take pause at any time and allow your body and heart to guide in this journey. Connected in the collective energy and individual frequency.

"Contact Beyond Contact" is a reference to how we are always in contact, beyond physical contact, through our awareness, intention, senses, energy, heart, and spirit!
Contact Beyond Contact (CBC) is a dance & healing practice for personal growth, relational development, and open-hearted connection with self, partner, community, and nature. It is a practice for our dance through life - embodying energetic attunement, clear intentions, invitations, boundaries, yes & no, leadership & followship, deep listening, and co-creation.
About Ecstatic Dance:
It's a free form dance, with no choreography. Simply intuitive movement. The dance playlist creates a wave of rhythms to facilitate journeying. The intention is to form community connection and connection with one's body/mind and soul.
Ecstatic Dance Guidelines:
-This is a substance free event. Please show up as you are.
-No photographs or video recording is permitted, unless the whole group consents.
-No verbal communication on the dance floor. Feel free to leave the dance floor if you need to speak with someone.
-You may dance with or interact with others during the dance but provide clear nonverbal communication to say yes or no to engage with another. Honor your needs!
-Have fun, respect the collective space and yourself and listen to your body!
*EVERYbody is welcome, regardless of ability. This event is a supportive space to move your body as much or as little as you'd like. Listen to what your body needs throughout the dance and feel free to honor its needs.
Matthew's Bio:
Matthew Stackowicz is an embodiment alchemist weaving breath, visualization, movement, shamanic devotion, reiki, somatic awareness, and dance into all he does. He hosts regular men’s circles, dance practices, shamanic journeys, retreats, and community embodiment endeavors in Chicago, Indiana, and around the world. He gently and artfully guides others into connecting with themselves, others, and the divine in deeply held sacred containers where people can explore the intricacies of their heart, mind, body, and soul. His hope is to connect people to their fullest truth, authenticity, and expression to bring about the healing that this world desperately needs. He is a level 3 Contact Beyond Contact facilitator (teacher Van Legakis), Shamanic Reiki practitioner (teacher Angell Deer with The Healing Sanctuary), and breathwork facilitator in training (teacher Kaya Leigh of Sacred Breath Academy).
Kohl Mayberry's (DJ Big Heart ❤️ ) Bio:
DJ Big Heart❤️ started novice amateur DJing 20 years ago when he fell in love with electronic dance music. 7 years ago when he had hit rock bottom and was in debilitating chronic physical pain with nowhere to turn, he stumbled upon an ecstatic dance. This dance completely cut DJ Big Heart❤️ wide open to the core and shook his entire being. He started dancing through his pain regularly both at home and in the community. Ecstatic dance has now become his obsession and his way to channel the divine. 5 years ago he started DJing ecstatic dances and in 2023 Kohl formed the organization now known as “Ecstatic Dance Batavia” where he started hosting and DJing ecstatic dances for the community in the Midwest to give back for the healing that he was gifted upon him and to share “the Gospel of ecstatic dance.”

Dance has been a soulful companion throughout my life. I first discovered ecstatic dance in the Red Woods of California in 2019 and became inspired to share this embodied, community driven and holistic practice. It has been a gift to host and co-create events in Lansing and Traverse City, Michigan, along with British Columbia, Canada. Ecstatic dance offers organic body movement, feeling waves of e-motions and connecting in a space that is supportive and liberating. Dance feels like home and sharing it is a calling and return to love.
