- **Event Description**: Ypsilanti singer/songwriter Timothy Monger fuses melodic indie pop with folk instrumentation and lyrics that celebrate literature, nature, offbeat characters, and a love of the arcane. As a solo artist, he has recorded four albums ranging in style from the lush baroque pop of his 2004 debut to the homespun psych-folk of his eponymous fourth album, released in 2023. An enduring presence amid Southeast Michigan's indie landscape, Monger rose to prominence in the mid-2000s as co-leader of Ann Arbor cult favorites Great Lakes Myth Society and later formed his own band, Timothy Monger State Park. His most recent release is Last Known Address, an EP and multimedia project commissioned for Ann Arbor's bicentennial.

Michigan based singer- songwriter Abe Abraham has returned home after years living in Denver, Portland, Oakland and Los Angeles. While living in his car in 2013, he wrote "Where the Skies Are Blue," subsequently recorded by The Lumineers for their #1 album, Cleopatra.

Abe has shared a stage with such international acts as the Lumineers, Gregory Alan Isakov, Nathanial Rateliff, A.A. Bondy, Gill Landry of Old Crow Medicine Show, Esmé Patterson (formerly of Paper Bird), Jim Lauderdale and others.

Benjamin James Childs is an indie-folk artist who has become known for his bittersweet lyricism and soft sonic landscape. With beginnings as a one-man show, he surrounded himself with likeminded musicians upon his move to Grand Rapids in 2018. He has since included their talents to his live sound, and with their help, released his second EP, BUNNY, out now.

The Stray is a music and arts cafe located in Grand Rapids, MI. In addition to our craft beer, coffee and wine selection, our kitchen will be open serving our full dinner menu until 9pm! Get here early to snag your favorite seat and grab a bite to eat before the show begins. This show is free to attend, but you can support artists through tips.

The Stray curates a listening room style venue, where performers are front and center, not background entertainment. We frequently ask attendees to silence their phones and keep conversations low out of respect to performers and other audience members.
