- **Event Description**: East Grand Rapids High School will present The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, based on the classic story by Washington Irving and adapted by Tracy Wells, as its fall play. Performances are November 6-8, 2025.

In a dark corner of a dusty old tavern, a cloaked storyteller weaves a haunting tale of mystery, terror, and things that go bump in the night. When awkward schoolmaster, Ichabod Crane, takes a position in the secluded town of Sleepy Hollow, he’s looking for comfort, love, and a nice, hot meal. What he doesn't expect to find is a community reeling from several recent disappearances and the claim that the ghoulish Headless Horseman is out to get them! But when he meets the beautiful and curious Katrina Van Tassel he finds himself in the crosshairs of the local brute, Brom Bones, as well as in the path of the Headless Horseman himself! This family-friendly retelling of the classic story by Washington Irving offers vivid characters, plenty of laughs, and a few spooky thrills!

Performances will be in the EGRHS Performing Arts Center at 7:00pm on November 6-7, and 2:00pm and 7:00pm on November 8. Tickets are $8 for students and $12 for adults. Premium seating for $12 (students) and $16 (adults) is also available. All EGRHS and EGRMS students can receive one FREE ticket at the door, with current student ID. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the scheduled curtain time.
