As you relax in weightless comfort, the soothing sounds of instruments like crystal singing bowls, a gong, Tingsha cymbals and more gently spread through the air, vibrating through every cell of your body to release mental, physical, and emotional stress.

This is the experience waiting for you during Floating in Harmony: An Aerial Hammock Sound Bath on Sunday, November 8, at Zeal Aerial Fitness, located at 131 Caledonia St NE in Grand Rapids. There are two ways you can experience this deeply immersive and restorative sound bath: floating in a hammock (limited to 11 hammocks) or “floating” on the floor (limited to 6 spots).

No experience is necessary for those floating in a hammock as a trained instructor from Zeal Aerial Fitness will be present to help you safely enter your hammock to create a sense weightless comfort. For those who choose to “float” on the floor, Zeal Aerial Fitness will provide a limited number of padded tumbling mats that you can sink into, creating the feeling of floating. If you do not wish to lay on a mat, you are welcome to bring your own yoga mat, blankets, pillows, etc. - whatever you need to optimize your comfort while relaxing on the floor. 

During this 60-minute sound bath, Matty Makowski, a certified Sound Healing Practitioner, Reiki Master, and  owner of Matty Sunshine Sound Healing, plays various instruments - including 8 crystal singing bowls, a Heng gong named Sunny, Tingsha cymbals, and more - that produce specific sounds, frequencies, and vibrations with the power to shift brainwaves into a deeply relaxed state. In this state, your nervous system can relax and release stuck/stagnant energy, emotions, and trauma, allowing your natural healing abilities to work more effectively. This can help bring you back into vibrational and energetic alignment across mind, body, and spirit.

TICKETS: $40 - hammock (11 available) or $30 - floor (6 available)

WHAT TO BRING: Regardless of which experience you choose (hammock vs. floor), you are encouraged to wear soft and comfortable clothes that allow you to fully relax, blankets, and plenty of water. If you will be enjoying the sound bath on the floor, but do not choose to lay on one of Zeal’s tumbling mats, you are encouraged to also bring a yoga mat. Depending on the thickness of your yoga mat, you may also consider bringing something additional to lay on top of, like an extra blanket, sleeping bag, or even a pool float. Eye masks will also be available if needed to help enhance your relaxation. Approximately one week prior to the event, all registered guests will receive an email with important details and reminders.

ACCESSIBILITY: There is an elevator located inside the building and this event is wheelchair accessible.

PARKING: Free parking is available in Creston Heights West Lot next to Zeal Aerial Fitness. Free street parking is also available on weekends in Grand Rapids.
