- **Event Description**: Join us April 23 as we eat and drink our way through the Basque country of Spain. The evening will feature a five-course dinner, paired with wines from Bodegas Bhilar, and stories from Matt and Cyndi's trip there in January.

Located in the Basque country, Bodegas Bhilar is a boutique winery in Elvillar, Rioja Alavesa. Owned by husband and wife team, David Sampedro and Melanie Hickman, the winery is dedicated to producing unique wines that reflect a sense of place through biodynamic viticulture and minimal intervention in the winery. David started this journey in 1999 with just three hectares of vines that he converted organic viticulture to reveal a different side of Rioja in a bottle. In 2014, in an effort to become an eco-conscious winery, David and Melanie eliminated tractors, and reintroduced horses to plow the soil. By 2016, they realized their dream of becoming an eco-conscious winery that blends into the surrounding landscape.

To highlight the featured wines, we have prepared a five-course meal inspired by the Basque region:
