- **Event Description**: The North Dakota Museum of Art invites the public to an exhibition opening reception on May 21, 4:30 – 6 pm. Join us to celebrate the opening of two new exhibitions, "Art Makers: 10 Years" and "Fawzia Khan: Ubuntu". Artist, Fawzia Khan will be present to give an informal talk. There will also be brief remarks by each of the artists present from "Art Makers: 10 Years:" Heidi Allen, Micah Bloom, James Culleton, Guy Nelson, Chris Pancoe, Armando Ramos, Justin Sorensen, and Donovan Widmer. 

The gallery talks and reception, including hors d'oeuvres and beverages, are free and open to the public. Parking is available, at no charge, in front of the Museum located on the University of North Dakota campus. Both exhibitions will continue through July 5, 2026.

Fawzia Khan's exhibition "Ubuntu" reflects on the current political climate and the polarization of the populace. Through textiles, audio, sculptural works and installations, Khan seeks to remind viewers of our common bonds and the need to recognize ourselves in each other, upholding the contributions of all to a functioning society. "Art Makers: 10 Years" celebrates the legacy of the Art Makers Series, showcasing work by the first ten recipients of the award. The Series was designed to spotlight regional artists, or those with ties to the region.
