Trees, Astronomy and Fractals Art Show
We are so honored to welcome artist Jenny Wood-Stout's beautiful art on the Wellness Collective Studio walls. When I look at Jenny's work, I immediately dive into deep meditation and the room displaying her work slows down and feels grounding. Graduated with a BA in Art from Western Michigan University, Jenny has always had an interest in the intersections between geometry and nature, applying these patterns in her designs. Working mainly in pencil, pen and ink, Jenny focuses on stylized shapes and patterns with accents in pointillism. Her fascination of trees, astronomy, and fractals will be felt in her work. Join us for Jenny's art show opening party Wednesday Jan 24 from 7 to 9PM.
As a bonus that same night, you will also be able to participate in a short Chen style tai-chi demonstration by Shane Monroe, an acupuncturist and member of the Wellness Collective of Grand Rapids. The style of tai-chi Shane practices originates from the Chen village, Hunan province, in Southeastern China. It is the oldest of the tai-chi styles, with a verifiable history dating to the 17th century, and is the foundation from which the other main styles of tai-chi have been developed.
Please come with family and friends to celebrate our artist and discover tai-chi (you may participate or watch). It's a free community event.
