Women’s Wednesday Workshop – Building Skills, Confidence, and Community
The Lac-Brome Men’s Shed is starting up in 2026 with energy on Wednesdays as we continue to host additional successful Women’s Wednesday Workshops. This monthly event invites women from across the community to step into the Shed, roll up their sleeves, and try their hand at practical, hands-on projects in a friendly and supportive environment.
Participants gather around workbenches alongside our experienced volunteer mentors, learning new skills such as basic woodworking, tool safety, measuring, sanding, drilling, and simple repairs. First-timers will gain confidence and seasoned DIYers will share tips and tricks. For many, it is a chance to try something completely new; for others, it is an opportunity to reconnect with skills they hadn’t used in years.
More than just a workshop, Women’s Wednesday is about connection. Friendships are formed, ideas are exchanged, and everyone enjoys the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that defines the Men’s Shed culture. Each session features a practical project that participants can take home with pride—whether it’s a small shelf, planter box, birdhouse, or another creative build.
The event reinforces what the Shed is all about: reducing isolation, encouraging lifelong learning, and creating a space where people feel valued and empowered. We hope that Women’s Wednesday continues to be a wonderful addition to our community programming.
We look forward to welcoming more participants at the next session—no experience required, just curiosity and a willingness to have fun!
