Many families and children in our community are struggling with food insecurity more than ever. WOW! (Women on the Water)1 is no longer waiting for legislators to help. We are going to make a difference now. WOW! is joining forces with Harvesters to learn about food insecurity, make an immediate difference, and of course, have a great time doing it.
 
JOIN US FOR OUR FIRST ANNUAL SCAVENGER HUNT FOR FUN AND FOOD!
 
Here’s how it works:
 
FORM A TEAM!​​
2 to 4 participants (or more). All ages welcome.

TIMELINE: ​
9:30 Registration and distribution of team maps (YES each team will get their very own map of approximately 40 homes in Lake Lotawana or surrounding neighborhoods to canvas.)
(donuts, cider, and coffee will be available)
9:45 Presentation by Harvesters to tell us what is happening with food insecurity and how we can help- today and going forward (We invite you to this portion, even if you can’t join the hunt.)
10:15 Scavenger Hunt Food Collection Begins throughout Lotawana and surrounding neighborhoods
12:30 to 1:30 Reassemble at the church to celebrate the bounty!
 
AND OF COURSE, WIN PRIZES!
• The Big Tuna Award: The most tuna, chicken and salmon collected
• Eat Your Veggies Award: For the most veggies collected
• You Smell GOOD Award: For the most personal hygiene items collected
• Monopoly Award: For the most monetary donations collected
• Yes, Size Does Matter Award: For the most overall food collected
 
IF YOU CAN’T DO A TEAM, YOU CAN:
• Show up for the presentation and a donut from 9:45 to 10:15 to learn about what is happening in our community. Bring your donations with you to drop off!
• Drop by donations any time between 9:30 and 1:30PM at the church- you don’t even have to get out of the car!
• Have items ready at your home so team members can grab and move on quickly to their next home!
• Have cash/check on hand to donate to teams. Checks should be made out to Harvesters- and ALL AMOUNTS MATTER!
• Give directly to Harvesters online: www.harvesters.org
• And yes, if your team can’t do the entire time, that is ok! We’d love to have you even if you can only go for part of the time!

Canned chicken, tuna, salmon (packed in water)​Peanut, almond, or sun butter
Dried beans or canned low sodium beans​​Whole grain pasta; Brown rice

Dried fruit (no added sugar preferred)​​​Canned fruits in 100% juice
