Every September, something extraordinary happens in Kenton-on-Sea.

A small coastal village comes together with one shared purpose—to celebrate the outdoors, support rhino conservation and inspire people to make a difference.

Home to Kariega Game Reserve's Thandi, one of the world's most inspiring rhino poaching survivors, and to South Africa's largest rhino run, our community has been bringing people together in support of rhino since 2013. Even during the pandemic, the event continued virtually, because protecting rhino has never stopped.

Now, that story grows.

From 17–20 September 2026, Kenton Rhino Rising transforms our village into a four-day festival of conservation, adventure and community.

Whether you're running, cycling, swimming, playing padel, attending inspiring conservation talks, gathering around the campfire, enjoying a night out with friends, watching The Last Ranger, or simply exploring everything Kenton-on-Sea has to offer, every experience contributes to a bigger purpose.

Together, we'll celebrate the wildlife, landscapes and people working to secure a future for rhino while showcasing the very best of our remarkable coastal community.

🏊 Awehness Rhino Rising Swim – Choose between a 1-mile or 2-mile Bushmans River swim.
🎾 Rhino Padel Tournament – including the Drone Exhibition, Conservation in Action demonstration and Burger Lunch at Volo.
🔥 Around the Campfire – Heritage Month Edition with Junior Bok Captain, Esethu Mnebelele, at Pizzarella.

🚴 Amariders Rhino Ride – Choose from 5 km, 10 km or 50 km cycle routes.
🎤 Conservation Conversations with Dr Will Fowlds, Lindy Sutherland & Pete Chadwick.
🎉 Ballies Jol at Jerry's Kenton.

🦏 The Kenton Rhino Run – South Africa's largest rhino run, with 5 km, 12 km and 18 km routes.
