Perseid Meteor Shower 
One of the most popular meteor showers of the year, the Perseids will peak this year around August 12th-13th. 2026 will be a great year for the Perseids as the peak coincides with a new moon, allowing us to see more of the shower. The Perseid meteors are caused by Earth passing through debris left behind by the comet Swift-Tuttle which last passed close to Earth in 1992. According to NASA, you can expect to see up to 100 meteors per hour at the shower's peak!
