- **Event Name**: Free 2-D Art Salon

- **Event Description**: The 2-D Art Salon will be a regular meeting of folks who want to practice creating art in a supportive, judgment free, peer lead environment.  An art salon is not an art class. It is more like a quilting bee. Each person will be working in their preferred 2-D medium. Our schedule will have 45 min of creation followed by 15 min of mutual encouragement and creative suggestions. Then we repeat that or the second hour. 

The space is limited, so please sign up as you are able.  Drop in are welcome, but we may not be able to accommodate you.

Where:  The 2-D Art Salon is held weekly at Saxapahaw UMC Fellowship Hall.

When:  The start times very by week.  1st and 3rd Wednesdays start at 5 pm and end at 7pm.  2nd and 4th Wednesdays start at 7 pm and end at 9 pm. 

Who: upper elementary age and up.  All Generations are encouraged to attend.  No training or experience needed, and all levels or ability are welcome.

**Please Note***All Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.  This is NOT a day care.  Accompanying adults do not have to participate in creating art, but they must stay on site for the duration of the salon. 

What you need to bring: Please bring your own favorite 2-D art supplies.  (Sorry NO Oil Paints--we must protect the space.)  Snacks and non alcoholic drinks if you want (Sorry, The church does not allow alcohol in the space.)

If you do not have supplies, a very limited number of 2-D art supplies will be available for purchase at the event. 

What we will provide: tarps/drop clothes to protect the floors.  A limited number of easels,  and two 6 foot tables. 

 If you have your own easel or work table, you are strongly encouraged to supply it. 

In order to keep this event free, attendees will be expected to help set up and clean up after the event.  We are required to leave the space clean and ready for the Day Care to use the following morning.  If you want to help set up, please arrive 15 min before the salon starts.
