ELIAS KRAFT Wednesday April 29 12:00-13:30 
The class consists of guided improvisation and self and/or partner bodycare. Focus on presence, play, choicemaking. Aimed to make you awake, alert, warm in your body and available to act on the ideas that come by.

Elias Kraft is a freelance dancer based in Gothenburg. He works with improvisation and performance making via dance, physical theatre and acting. Graduated from SEAD in 2022 and has since worked around Sweden and toured Europe with his collective Useless Machines.

JOSEBA YERRO IZAGUIRRE 

The class is a constant exploration of a sensing body, by working together with different musicalities, fantasies and textures. The goal is to find a state of totality, playfulness and awareness where anything is possible, by embracing the unknown and the irregularity of our bodies in space, always in relationship both with the music and others.

(Vi kommer att förbereda rörelsematerial och koder för att dansa och röra oss under demonstrationen). Ur ett aktivistiskt dansperspektiv är denna praktiska workshop öppen för alla i danscommunityt – och för alla som känner sig manade att bidra och delta. 

Med utgångspunkt i sina egna erfarenheter av att dansa på gatan, särskilt i demonstrationer, delar Sebastian med sig av tillgängliga rörelsemetoder anpassade för offentliga rum – samt insikter från sitt engagemang i protester i Santiago, Chile. I Chile fick dansen en stark närvaro i folkliga uppror, och tillför viktig energi till gatorna samt hjälpte till att navigera demonstrationernas spänningar.

FRÉDÉRIC GIES 
Technosomatics is a movement practice developed by Frédéric who shares it in various workshop formats. It consists of a collective and individual exploration of the endocrine glands (the major chemical system of our body) and the chakras (energy centres) through club dancing to techno music and vice versa: an exploration of club dancing while embodying the endocrine glands and the chakras. It is practised mostly with closed eyes, in a pitch-dark room. It emphasises the experiential body and explores alternative maps, which both match and deviate from the mainstream scientific map of the body.

The practice connects to both the field of somatics (movement education practices) and to techno club/rave dance cultures. It originates in Frédéric encounters with diverse somatic practices, and in their dance floor experiences. As a form of meditation in movement, it explores trancelike states of consciousness and acknowledges the healing potential of the act of dancing. It also approaches club dance as a tool for self-discovery and for expanding the range of our perceptions. The practice doesn’t require any specific background in dance.

LOVISA MATTISSON & TANJA ANDERSSON Floorwork
We work across the floor with different flows that emphasize release, tonus, tricks, flexibility, momentum, sliding, flipping and rolling - in a soft, relaxed and playful setting.

SEBASTIAN RUIZ
OBS! workshop + demonstration (we will prepare movement material and codes to dance and move within the demonstration)

Drawing on his own experiences of dancing in the streets, especially in demonstrations, Sebastian will share accessible movement methods adapted for public spaces – as well as insights from his involvement in protests in Santiago, Chile. There dance gained a strong presence in popular uprisings, bringing important energy to the streets and helping to navigate the tensions of the demonstrations. From an activist dance perspective, this practical workshop is open to everyone in the dance community – and to anyone who feels called to contribute and participate. After the workshop, anyone who wants will go together to the demonstration. Brunch included!
