Helicon was formed by brothers John-Paul and Gary Hughes in East Kilbride, Glasgow, Scotland. Known for the intensity of their live shows, their sound blends psychedelia, electronica, guitars and sitars with a spirit of countercultural experimentation. Since signing to Fuzz Club in 2017, their music has featured on BBC Radio 6 Music, and they’ve previously collaborated with Tony Doogan (Mogwai / Delgados / Belle & Sebastian / David Byrne), Will Carruthers (Spacemen 3 / The Brian Jonestown Massacre/ Spiritualized / Dead Skeletons), and Mark Gardener (Ride).

The band has toured UK/EU regularly over the last 5-6 years including sold out shows in Glasgow, London, Manchester, Paris, Berlin, with show stealing performances at major festivals including Fuzz Club Eindhoven, Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia, Manchester Psych Fest. Edinburgh Psych Fest, Stellar Swamp Fest and Kelburn Garden Party.

Helicon is: John-Paul Hughes, Gary Hughes, Anna McCracken, Graham Gordon, Mike Hastings, Billy Docherty and Seb Jonsen.
