The Artist-in-Residence program invites artists to immerse themselves in our biodiverse and productive landscape, exploring how creativity and agriculture can inform and inspire one another.Throughout the season, our artists spend time on the farm observing, experimenting, and creating work inspired by the rhythms of the land. Their art grows alongside the vegetables, through sun, rain, and the occasional curious chicken (or goose) wandering a little too close.This exhibition celebrates the culmination of their work.  Artwork will be available for purchase, offering visitors the opportunity to take home a one-of-a-kind piece inspired by the farm. A portion of proceeds from art sales will be generously donated to AOOA, supporting the continued growth of this place as a nurturing space for both art and agriculture.Bam Bowen is a multidisciplinary artist based in Newburgh, NY whose practice spans sculpture, collage, painting, embroidery, and more. They studied sculpture at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where they explored working with different forms and materials. Bowen’s work embraces experimentation across mediums, weaving together texture, color, and narrative to create pieces that invite curiosity. Their collage work, in particular, assembles unexpected elements into surreal compositions that explore meaning within disorder.Christiane O’Banion is a botanical watercolor artist based in Goshen, NY whose work explores the relationship between native plants and the pollinators that sustain them. She documents the exchange between local flora and their insect visitors — interdependent systems that mirror the reciprocity between farm and community. She also studies the farm’s seasonal crops and animal life, creating detailed works that reflect the function and resilience of a healthy ecosystem. Her paintings invite close observation and a deeper awareness of the living networks that support both land and people.Admission is free, but please sign up in advance.
